As of the end of March 2016, Strikwerda Investments is the new shareholder of Dutch ICT infrastructure specialist Vancis. Strikwerda Investments has acquired the shares in Vancis from Coöperatie SURF. In the coming years, Vancis will work together with Strikwerda Investments to strengthen its existing market position and expand to related sectors.
Vancis provides high-quality ICT services to educational, research, and healthcare institutions and companies active in the field of business services. Its own datacentres in Amsterdam and Almere are the foundation of Vancis’ service offering, from which the company provides Datacentre Services, Cloud Services and Managed Services. Customers can fully or partially outsource their ICT and Datacentre Services to Vancis.
SURF is an ICT cooperation of the education and research sector in the Netherlands. Universities, higher education colleges, vocational schools, research institutions and academic medical centres collaborate within SURF on ICT services and innovation. SURF offers students, teachers, researchers and staff access to the best ICT facilities for top research and talent development. SURF’s activities are provided through three companies: SURFmarket, SURFnet and SURFsara.
